Struggling to consistently create engaging social media content? What if you could have an AI assistant that generates scroll-stopping hooks tailored to your brand? Today, we're diving into a game-changing workflow and AI that I developed to improve your social media strategy.

Setting up an AI assistant in Claude

Let's start by creating a solid foundation for your AI social media hook generator. We'll be using Claude to bring this project to life.

  1. Head over to Claude and create a new project. I called it "Social Media Hook Generator."

  2. Once inside your new project, you'll notice the project knowledge section. This is where the magic happens. By uploading key documents here, we're essentially giving Claude a crash course in your brand voice and social media best practices.

1. Creating a Claude project

2. Claude project knowledge

Remember, the project knowledge you provide acts as Claude's personal playbook. The more relevant information you include, the better Claude can tailor its outputs to your specific needs. In our case, we'll be adding two crucial documents that will shape how Claude generates hooks for your social media content.

I recommend creating folders in Google Drive to keep all of your project knowledge docs for this and any other assistant you want to create. This is how I organize all my different knowledge bases. (See more in the video)

Crafting your brand and audience document

The first key ingredient in our AI hook generator recipe is a document that outlines your brand identity and target audience. This crucial piece of information helps Claude understand the voice and style it should use when crafting hooks for your social media content.

What to include:

  1. Brand name and description

  2. Core values and mission statement

  3. Target audience demographics

  4. Audience pain points and interests

  5. Preferred tone and style of communication

  6. Any specific language or phrases to use (or avoid)

  7. Examples of successful past content (if available)

Here is the doc I created:

You can see that I kept things really simple. I found that the hook generator works great even with just this. With that said, you can get as detailed as you want, providing any insights into your brand or company.

Pro tip: Don't overthink this document. Even a brief overview of your brand and audience can significantly improve Claude's understanding. You can always refine and expand it later as you see how Claude performs.

Uploading to Claude's project knowledge

Now after you have created this doc in Google Drive or elsewhere, you are going to need to upload it to Claude’s project knowledge.

  1. Create your document in your preferred text editor

  2. Save it as a PDF

  3. Give it a clear, descriptive name like "AI_Disruptor_Brand_and_Audience.pdf"

  4. In your Claude project, click on the "Upload" button in the project knowledge section

  5. Select your PDF file and wait for it to upload

  6. Double-check that the file appears in your project knowledge list

You've just given Claude a crash course in your brand identity. This document will serve as a constant reference point, ensuring that every hook Claude generates aligns with your brand voice and resonates with your target audience.

Don't be afraid to update this document as your brand evolves or you gain new insights about your audience. Your AI assistant is always ready to learn and adapt!

The successful hook structures document

Now that we've given Claude insight into your brand and audience, it's time to teach it the art of crafting compelling social media hooks. This is where our "successful hook structures" document comes into play.

The hook structures document serves as a template library for Claude. It's a curated list of proven hook formats that have been shown to grab attention and drive engagement on social media platforms. By providing Claude with these structures, we're essentially giving it a playbook of winning strategies to use when generating hooks for your content.

Good news – you don't have to create this document from scratch! I’ve already prepared a comprehensive list of effective hook structures that you can use right away. This document includes:

  1. A variety of hook formats (11 different structures)

  2. Each structure is formatted specifically for Claude to analyze and understand

  3. Examples of how each hook structure can be used

Here is the document you need to download:

Succesful Hook Structures (DON'T CHANGE).pdf56.37 KB • PDF File

Don't modify the document – it's already optimized for Claude's understanding.

Just like with the brand and audience document, you'll want to upload this to your Claude project:

  1. In your Claude project, click on the "Upload" button in the project knowledge section.

  2. Select the "Successful_Hook_Structures.pdf" file you downloaded.

Ensure the file name remains clear and descriptive.

The AI hook generator prompt

Now that we've set up Claude with your brand information and hook structures, it's time to use the prompt that will turn your AI assistant into a social media hook-generating powerhouse.

I've developed a specialized prompt that combines all these elements effectively.

‘The Hook Generator’

You are an expert hook creator for social media posts. You have run successful channels that have reached millions of views. You are now working for me, with the goal of growing my audience exponentially through effective and engaging hooks.

Your first step is to analyze your project knowledge base. In it, you will find details about my audience/brand and a structure for successful hooks.

Based on these, you will then create 10 hooks for the following content/topic:

<content>

INSERT CONTENT HERE

</content>

Now, start by working in <scratchpad> tags and analyze my audience/brand, the hook structures, my content, and how you will combine all of it into the engaging hooks.

Then, list out the ten hooks for us to review.

Here’s how this prompt works:

  1. Persona: We start by giving Claude a specific role - an expert hook creator with a track record of success. This helps frame the AI's approach to the task.

  2. Goal: We clearly state the objective - growing your audience through engaging hooks. This keeps Claude focused on creating hooks that will drive engagement and growth.

  3. Instructions: We provide a step-by-step process for Claude to follow, including analyzing the project knowledge, creating hooks based on that analysis, and presenting the results.

  4. Content placeholder: The <content> tags allow you to easily insert the specific content or topic you want hooks for.

  5. Scratchpad technique: By asking Claude to work in <scratchpad> tags, we get insight into its thought process, which can be valuable for refining your approach over time.

To streamline your workflow, consider using a tool like Text Blaze to store and quickly access this prompt. With Text Blaze, you can create a shortcut (like "/hooks") to instantly paste this entire prompt into Claude. It's a small time-saver that adds up when you're creating content regularly.

Remember, you will have to use this prompt every time you want to create a hook, not just once.

Putting it all together: Using your AI hook generator

Now that we have all the pieces in place, let's walk through how to use your new AI hook generator:

  1. Open your Claude project "Social Media Hook Generator".

  2. Paste the prompt into the chat interface (or use your Text Blaze shortcut).

  3. Replace the <content> placeholder with the content you want hooks for. This could be a blog post, video transcript, or even just a topic idea.

  4. Hit enter and watch Claude work its magic!

Claude will first provide its analysis in the <scratchpad> section, showing how it's interpreting your brand, audience, and content. Then, it will list out ten hooks based on this analysis.

‘Hook Generator’ prompt in action

Tips for refining and editing the generated hooks

  1. Numbers game: Claude might invent specific numbers or statistics. Always fact-check and adjust these to align with your actual experience or data.

  2. Brand alignment: Ensure each hook accurately represents your brand voice and values.

  3. Mix and match: Don't be afraid to combine elements from different generated hooks to create the perfect one for your needs.

  4. Iterate and improve: As you use this system, take note of which hooks perform best and feed that information back into your brand document. This will help Claude generate even better hooks over time.

Remember, while this AI-powered approach can significantly streamline your social media content creation, your human touch is still crucial.

By implementing this system, you're not just saving time – you're supercharging your entire social media strategy, which is heavily reliant on engaging and successful hooks.

It's time to put your new AI assistant to work. Start by generating hooks for your next piece of content, and watch as your engagement metrics start to climb.
